Shrimp Boil

It has been a few weeks since we had this shrimp boil, but I thought I would post a couple of pictures. If you haven't done a shrimp boil before it is really easy and fun to feed a bunch of people. You basically get a huge pot, cut up a bunch of potatoes, corn on the cob, add some shrimp boil seasonings you can buy at the store, a couple of lemon halves and boil it all together until the potatoes and corn are just about ready. Then you add the shrimp in. When it is all cooked you drain the water, line the table or floor with newspaper and dump it in a big pile. Everyone can sit around and just eat out of the middle with their hands. Now that I write it all out it does sound kind of Kentuckyish.

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

We are especially excited about Christmas this year. Our kids are at fun ages for Christmas and we will actually be in our own home with our little family this year. I think this will be the first year since we've been married that we will not be at parents houses or on a vacation. We decorated our trees and house the couple of days after Thanksgiving and haven't stopped with Christmas activities since. We have been having a blast. Last week we made a ginger bread house and then had what I call Christmas Sundays (Peppermint ice cream, hot fudge, whip cream, and all the sprinkles and candy you can load on). Here are some pictures.
